Andrew has been the Chief Executive Officer of the Peel Development Commission for the past 2 years and brings with him over 20 years’ experience in community services and administration management and a proven ability to lead and develop multidimensional teams. With metropolitan and regional senior management experience in the local government environment, Andrew Ward previously held the position of Director at the City of Karratha overseeing a number of departments including Finance, Community and Economic Development, Industry Partnerships, Recreation Facilities and Community Services.
As CEO of the Peel Development Commission, Andrew has been responsible for driving Transform Peel, an initiative that was devised, developed and implemented by the Peel Development Commission. Other key aspects he is responsible for include implementation of the Peel Regional Investment Blueprint, setting the strategic direction of the Peel Region and taking a leadership role within the region working with all stakeholders across government, industry and community. A key focus of his role is economic and regional development promoting jobs growth and economic diversity as a primary consideration.
Andrew enjoys active involvement in community groups, currently being on the committee of the Madora Bay Community Association. He also sits on the Board of the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre. He is married and has three school-aged children.
