Peel Regional Plan 2011-16
The Peel Regional Plan 2011-16 The Peel Regional Plan 2011-2016 has been developed to provide strategic direction for the Peel Region over the next 5 years. This plan is designed not only to support the operations of the Peel Regional Leaders Forum, but also to guide strategic advice to all other organisations in the Region, encouraging them to align broader initiatives aimed at sustainable development of the Peel Region.
This plan represents the Peel Region’s first attempt at having one plan endorsed by the Region’s leaders and community to guide the Region strategically through the next 5 years and achieve our vision of “A thriving and prosperous Peel Region that acknowledges and responds to the economic, social, cultural and environmental needs of residents, visitors and enterprise.”
The Peel Regional Plan has been compiled through a process of identifying the key issues facing the region, locating evidence to support the existence of that issue, then developing a series of strategies to address those issues. These strategies then, to a large degree, arranged themselves into the regional priorities.
The Peel Regional Plan will provide the basis for the development of an Investment Plan for the Region. The Investment Plan will specify the proposed projects and their estimated costs over the next several years. The development of the Investment Plan is an opportunity for all stakeholders to put forward their proposed initiatives, however all projects identified will have to demonstrate they have clear linkages to the Peel Regional Plan and associated local strategies.
The Investment Plan will be a plan of actions necessary under the Peel Regional Plan, the instrument that drives implementation of the Peel Regional Plan. The Investment Plan is currently undergoing development and will be available in early 2012. To provide feedback on the Peel Regional Plan 2011-16 please fill in the form below.
